New investment fund for companies in the PCM
Companies associated with PCM (PCM) have preferential access to the newly created seed capital fund of the Institut Universitari de Ciència i Tecnología (IUCT Empren) aimed at innovative technology companies. Thanks to the agreement signed by both entities, companies associated with the PCM can accessthis fund that aims to provide entrepreneurs of knowledge assets, expertise and services that has the IUCT, worth four million euros. "We want to create a new model of entrepreneurship based oninter-cooperation and exploitation of synergies arising from the resources and scientific and technological capabilities of our company," says Josep Castells, director of IUCTEmpren. Investments will be made in projects in areas such as industrial biotechnology, green chemistry, biomedical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, functional food, fine chemicals, biofuels, among others. This agreement is part of the PCM's commitment to the promotion of a national marketbased on R & D + i for what is essential to achieve investment partners to supporttechnology-based companiessuch as those associated with the park.
Knowledge Capital Fund Presentation in Madrid
On September the 14th. at 9h 30' a.m the Knowledge Capital Fund will be presented in Madrid. This presentation will take place in the opening session of the 9th Green Chemestry Conferenced at the Colegio de San Ildefonso de la Universidad de Alcalá .

Great success at Knowledge Capital Fund conference
With the presence of Honorable Sr. Andreu Mas-Colell, Conseller d'Economia i Coneixement, the Knowledge Capital Fund was presented at the IUCT headquarters of Mollet
The event also involved:
- Mr. Josep Castells, CEO of IUCT, who made the presentation and description of the Fund
- Mr. Xavier López, director general d'Economia Social i Cooperativa i Treball Autònom del Departament d’Empresa i Ocupació, that as a former president of the Clade Group will saw the born of IUCT and made a defense of the values of entrepreneurship and continuous innovation that have guided IUCT since its inception, that have led it to the pointof getting the maximum expression of these values, encouraging and assisting the creation of new enterpreneuring innovation through the Fund.
- Il•lm. Sr. Josep Monràs, alcalde de Mollet del Vallès, who defended the pride of the town to have an innovative institution as IUCT
- Honorable Sr. Andreu Mas-Colell, Conseller d'Economia i Coneixement, highlighting an instrument like the presented to support companies in their early stages, as there is still funds available for investment in higher amounts of capital risk, for this segment of Seed Capital is much harder to find financing.
The ceremony was followed by over a hundred listeners who shared a few words after the act with the Minister and IUCT representatives
